Will the patient be at risk if they accidentally cover the air intake while sleeping?

AirMini / Flow Gen / Machine

Patients should be careful not to block or cover the AirMini air intake vent as this can cause the device to overheat. They should not place the AirMini machine in the bed, or under a pillow, sheet, or blanket. Should the AirMini get too warm, an internal thermal cut-off switch will turn off the device, preventing risk of harm to the patient or damage to the device. ResMed offers an AirMini mount system accessory you can recommend to the patient if they do not want to place the machine on a nightstand.
